Each certification creates a structured verification artifact containing a SHA-256 dataset fingerprint and an Ed25519 digital signature. The resulting certificate is machine-verifiable: any party can hash the dataset, compare it against the certificate record, and validate the signature using the public key.
What is the difference between certification and notarization?
They use the same underlying cryptographic engine — SHA-256 hashing and Ed25519 signing. Certification is positioned as a stronger trust claim tied to the synthetic generation context (algorithm, rows, schema). Notarization is a lighter timestamp-and-integrity workflow for any AI artifact. Both share the same monthly quota on your plan.
Does every certified artifact appear in the registry?
Yes. Registry presence is automatic with certification — it is a consequence of being certified, not a separate product. Higher tiers unlock richer organization profiles, private or unlisted artifact control, enhanced listing visibility, and audit-ready export capability.
How does decision logging differ from standard observability tools?
Standard observability tools record what your AI system did. CertifiedData links each logged decision back to the certified dataset that produced it, creating provenance-linked proof. You can trace a model output back to its certified training data and verify the chain cryptographically — something observability tools have no concept of.
What happens if I exceed my certification quota?
