Why financial AI decisions require cryptographic logging

When a credit decision is challenged — under the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, or the EU AI Act — the institution must produce evidence of how the decision was made, what data informed the model, and that the record has not been altered after the fact.

Standard application logs cannot satisfy this burden. They are alterable, unverified, and disconnected from the training data. CertifiedData decision records are append-only, Ed25519-signed, and linked to the certified datasets used to train the model — producing evidence, not documentation.

Credit scoring

Every credit score calculation that informs a lending decision should be logged with the model version, input features (anonymized), outcome, and reason codes. Enables adverse action notice production.

Linking credit model decisions to certified training data

A key requirement for financial AI compliance is proving that the model was trained on compliant data — data that does not contain prohibited bases, is appropriately anonymized, and reflects documented generation methodology.
